Digitalbox PLC (AIM:DBOX, FRA:RLXB), the mobile-first digital media company, is targeting further growth through acquisitions and new brand launches in 2026 after expanding its portfolio to ten brands and reporting a seventh consecutive year of profitability.

The company, which owns Entertainment Daily, The Daily Mash, The Tab and TV Guide among others, said early trading in 2026 was showing positive progress in line with its plans, and described structural shifts in the media industry as catalysts rather than headwinds for focused mobile publishers.

Chief executive James Carter said Digitalbox had developed a “repeatable acquisition engine” and was confident in its strategy to become an entertainment publishing powerhouse, with scalable proprietary technology and balance sheet strength to pursue further deals.

The company ended 2025 with net cash of £1.8 million, down from £2 million a year earlier.

Group revenue rose 7% to £3.9 million in the year ended 31 December, with adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) up 9% to £0.68 million, representing a margin of 17.4%.

EBITDA on a reported basis, which includes new product development costs, fell 41% to £0.32 million as the company invested in building four new operating assets as part of its Verticals strategy.

Online sessions across the portfolio totalled 256 million during the year, with unique users growing 3% and page views up 7%.

Social media followers grew 31% to 27 million.

Digitalbox said it sees four structural trends underpinning its strategy: digital advertising continuing to take share from traditional media, mobile remaining the dominant content consumption channel, robust demand for entertainment content, and artificial intelligence reshaping content discovery in ways that favour specialist publishers.
