Jon Hamm is reminiscing about his early days on television.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show on Monday, March 30, Hamm 55, was reminded about some of his old on-screen work by host Jimmy Fallon. After the Your Friends & Neighbors star said he used to film “a lot of” public service announcements (PSAs) when he first started acting in St. Louis, Fallon, 51, interjected: “I think that we might have found your first on-camera job.”
“This is an educational health and fitness video called ‘Flip for Fitness,’ ” Fallon continued, introducing the ad.

In the PSA, a young Hamm can be seen sitting on a desk in a classroom. “Hi. Now I’m not here to lecture you, like you need another lecture — but the governor of Missouri is so concerned with your health, that he wants to spread the word on fitness. Which is why he started the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Health,” he says aloud.
“Now, I know what you’re thinking: Fitness is …. ew,” Hamm continues.

After watching the PSA, Hamm noted that he wore his own clothing, saying it was “all my own wardrobe, I’ll have you know.” He added, “That was my wardrobe. I brought all that in.”
“That was also my hair, that was not a wig, boy,” Hamm continued.
Fallon then implored his guest to try on a wig that mimicked his old hairstyle, asking, “Do you think that you could pull that hair off these days?”

“I — yes?” Hamm responded. He then tried on the wig, with Fallon donning a matching version. The actor joked, “You could almost do the Bieber flip.”
In addition to looking back on his younger acting days, Hamm also reacted to his viral dance meme from Your Friends & Neighbors, which returns to Apple TV for season 2 on Friday, April 3.
He also lent his voice to Walt Disney and Pixar’s animated film, Hoppers, which opened in theaters on March 6. In a recent exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the Mad Men alum reflected on being part of a critically acclaimed project from Pixar. “I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a goal of mine ever since I was starting this career a million years ago, to be part of this. It’s earned its place in the pantheon, not just of animation, but of storytelling. You look at things like Toy Story or WALL-E. This goes on and on and on, and just the amazing care that they take with their stories, and this is a worthy member of that club,” Hamm said.
