The topic of whether Carole and Michael Middleton should be granted noble titles one day has sparked fresh debate among fans of the Royal Family online. As parents of the Princess of Wales and the grandparents of a future King, the family are in a unique position.
As frequent fixtures at royal events such as Royal Ascot, Catherine’s annual carol concert and national occasions such as King Charles’s coronation, many have argued that they should be ennobled in some way, shape or form in the future.
Sir John Madejski previously called for the family to be granted titles in 2014. Speaking of Catherine’s parents, he said: “They should be the Earl and Countess of Bucklebury. They deserve it. They are great people and really good role models.”

Another added: “No, they are associated with the Royal Family, but are a separate family. They have businesses and lives themselves.” Meanwhile, a third said: “I think families like the Middletons should be given an opportunity to represent the monarchy.”

Carole and Michael, who met while working at British Airways, raised their three children, Catherine, Pippa and James, while building careers as entrepreneurs. In the late 1980s, the couple started their own retail business, Party Pieces, a party supply company that they sold after it was bought out of administration.
They raised their family in Berkshire and later moved to an impressive home in the village of Bucklebury, where they still live today. As they live near William and Catherine’s main residence, Forest Lodge, they are active in the lives of their grandchildren, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
The pair are known to do the school pick-ups and drop-offs at nearby Lambrook School when William and Catherine’s royal schedules don’t allow them to be there.
The family was also known to be instrumental in supporting the Waleses during Catherine’s cancer treatment and subsequent recovery.
