Fashion girls have been going wild for Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel ever since it hit the shelves, and it looks like Miranda Priestly is getting on board the Blazy train too.
While promoting her new sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2, Meryl Streep (who portrays the icy, but stylish Miranda) has been leaning into the references—with the help of her stylist, Micaela Erlanger, of course. Last week, the actor wore a sweater in, what else, but cerulean, and a very Miranda-coded cheetah coat to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Only a few days prior, while in Mexico City, she wore an all-red look as a wink to the blood-red pump from the original Devil Wears Prada movie poster.
And today, in lieu of making any nods to the DWP universe, Streep decided to simply celebrate a great new piece of fashion. And isn’t that really what the franchise is all about?
At a fan event in Tokyo, Japan, the three-time Oscar winner arrived in a pop art-esque, fringe-trimmed ensemble from the Chanel Métiers d’Art Pre-Fall 2026 collection by Blazy.
The set consisted of a vermillion coat and midi skirt, which were decorated with a graphic art-style print of white splotches that looked like cracks in the fabric.
At the sleeves, and along the undulating hems of the jacket and skirt, long black fringe hung down for a decidedly Western touch; the detail was complemented by a fuzzy black neckline up top.
For an added pop of color, the underside of the sleeves featured swathes of coral blue, giving the design even more of a graphic feel.
Streep completed her straight-off-the-runway look with a few accessories from Chanel as well, including a pair of white slingbacks with black toes, a quilted oval clutch in inky leather, and large square sunglasses. For jewelry, she turned to Fred Leighton and A Diamond is Forever.
As this is simply the press tour, imagine the clothes we’ll see on the actual screen, when The Devil Wears Prada 2 finally hits theaters on May 1.
