The pioneering TV series Star Trek will go where no show has gone before. The sci-fi classic, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary, will receive the inaugural Franchise of the Year award at the 2026 Broadcasting+Cable Hall of Fame ceremony in New York City on Sept. 29.
Other inductees announced on Tuesday include Watch What Happens Live host and producer Andy Cohen, Food Network host and producer Bobby Flay, and Stephen A. Smith, host and producer of ESPN’s First Take.

While other programs such as American Idol, Days of our Lives, Mad Men, The Simpsons, and 60 Minutes have been inducted in previous years, Star Trek is the first to receive the newly created franchise category.
Television legends inducted since 1991 include Lucille Ball, Candice Bergen, Johnny Carson, Michael J. Fox, Kelsey Grammer, Jim Henson, David E. Kelley, Norman Lear, Mary Tyler Moore, Betty White, and Oprah Winfrey.
