During the first of two shows during the 2026 Land of Hope and Dreams Tour at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band covered a classic from The Clash’s London Calling album.
In the fourth slot of the setlist, Springsteen and the E Street Band (and Tom Morello) performed “Clampdown,” the penultimate song of the second side of London Calling. It was also released as a single in Australia in 1980.
Fans may not be surprised by this, as Springsteen has previously covered the song with Morello. However, it hasn’t happened since the 2014 High Hopes Tour, which also featured Morello.
According to Setlist.fm, they covered the song six times on the High Hopes Tour. The last performance occurred at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, on May 17, 2014.
It remains to be seen if Springsteen will keep “Clampdown” in the setlist every night. He is known for shaking things up on a nightly basis, so perhaps it was a one-off. He has opened and closed each show of his 2026 tour with covers — opening with The Temptations’ “War” and closing with Bob Dylan’s “Chimes of Freedom.”
