Seagle Festival evening of musical theater
7:30 p.m. on April 11 at the Lodge at Schroon Lake
Seagle Festival alumnus Scott Hetz Clark and faculty member Neill Campbell will take the stage to perform a curated selection of musical theater gems and beloved hits from the Great American Songbook. The night’s theme is “I Left My Heart in Schroon Lake.”
This special performance highlights Seagle Festival’s commitment to expanding its programming year-round.

Warren County “Gala 250” celebration
5-8 p.m. on April 11 at Fort William Henry in Lake George
The celebration will commemorate the upcoming 250th anniversary of American independence and highlight the role the Warren County region played in the events surrounding the American Revolution. The gala will feature a keynote address by Douglas Bradburn, executive director of George Washington’s Mount Vernon. Guests can also enjoy live, 18th-century music performed by New York Baroque Ballet and the Glens Falls Symphony, along with traditional fife and drum music and musket fire demonstrations.
The evening begins with colonial-inspired signature cocktails at a cash bar. Dinner will feature a multi-course, colonial-inspired menu before the featured presentation and dessert. Guests are encouraged to attend in period attire or black tie, though either is optional.

Essex County Farmers’ Brunch
10 a.m.-12 p.m. on April 11 at Old Pharmacy Building in Elizabethtown
Local farmers and community members are invited to a Farmers’ Brunch in Elizabethtown. Enjoy a maple breakfast and connect with fellow farmers and neighbors over good food and conversation. This is an opportunity to share ideas, network and celebrate local agriculture. A basket of local products will also be raffled off during the event.
This event costs $5 for New York Farm Bureau (NYFB) members, $15 for non-members.
New modern art exhibit at the Hyde Collection
April 11 at the Hyde Collection in Glens Falls
The exhibition, “Voices of Abstraction,” presents a visual conversation between American artist Toshiko Takaezu’s work and abstract painters such as Sam Gilliam, Grace Hartigan and Adolph Gottlieb. Takaezu’s vessels operate as three-dimensional canvases animated by gesture and color. Visitors can expect to see oblong and spherical sculptures ranging from six inches to 58 inches tall, dripping with colors such as vibrant turquoise and deep violet, and brushed with earth tones like burnt sienna and onyx.
Hill and Hollow Music concert
3 p.m. on April 12 at the Strand Theatre in Plattsburgh
Two-time JUNO (Canadian Grammy) winner Kiran Ahluwalia’s open-hearted vocals have established her as one of global music’s most compelling cross-pollinators. Her six piece band is led by guitarist Rez Abbasi whose accolades include the Guggenheim Fellowship and frequent appearances on the Top Ten Guitarists of Downbeat’s International Critics Poll and is rounded out by drum kit, table accordion and organ.

‘Wicked’ sing along at the Children’s Museum
2-4 p.m. on April 12 at the North Country Children’s Museum in Potsdam
The North Country Children’s Museum invites children and families to a Wicked Sing Along, a live, interactive experience on the museum’s second-floor stage. All Ozians are invited to join this karaoke-style event featuring Elphaba and Glinda, with songs from the hit movie performed by student vocalists from the Crane School of Music. This program is open to all museum visitors, offering a chance to sing along, enjoy the music live, and snap a photo with the witches.
