Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped out for a stylish date night on Friday and were photographed at a party hosted by Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos at his Montecito home in California. Meghan, 44, dressed in a green ensemble by Heidi Merrick and wore Jimmy Choo strappy heels. Harry, 41, wore a plain navy suit with a white button-down shirt.
The Sussexes joined a number of celebrities at the event, including former Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau and singer Katy Perry. In one image, Meghan and Harry were seen embracing the Netflix boss’s wife, Nicole Avant. Last year, Netflix announced that Meghan and Harry had changed their partnership with the streamer through Archewell Productions with a multi-year, first-look deal for film and television projects.
Sources had insisted that Ted was avoiding Meghan, and the company was “done” with the couple and their “recycled” ideas.
Their glamorous outing came on the same day it emerged that Harry is facing a new legal challenge involving Sentebale, the charity he co-founded in 2006 to support children and young people affected by HIV/AIDS in southern Africa.
According to newly revealed court filings, Sentebale lodged a defamation claim against Harry last month in the High Court. Harry’s former Sentebale trustee Mark Dyer has also reportedly been named in the legal action.
The event also comes as Harry and Meghan continue to deepen their relationship with Netflix, with several projects already released under their multi-million-dollar deal with the streaming giant.
Five months after their wedding, in 2018, the glowing couple arrived in the country and announced Meghan was pregnant with son Archie.
The tour this year has drawn comparisons to the Firm, but they will not be there as working royals following their fallout with The Firm.
