Nobody can say that Justin Bieber didn’t have people talking after he headlined at Coachella over the weekend.
Several online critics slammed the “Baby” singer, 32, after he delivered a very stripped-down performance on Saturday, April 11.
Bieber got on stage at nearly midnight wearing an oversized hoodie, shorts and boots before performing several songs from his 2025 album Swag II. Assistants then set up a small table with a stool and the dad of one began pulling up old videos of himself on YouTube.
He streamed the videos to a large screen behind him and sang along with some of his biggest hits like “Baby” and “Beauty and a Beat.”
However, Bieber also played some of his more viral moments that were caught on camera, including a verbal altercation with the paparazzi in 2025 when he told them, “It’s not clocking to you that I’m standing on business.”
Multiple people took to social media to voice their disappointment with Bieber’s performance, which reportedly earned him $10 million for two weekends at the festival.

“Justin Bieber playing songs from his laptop on stage while Sabrina Carpenter delivered multiple outfit changes, visuals, choreography and vocals,” one person wrote via X. “These pictures speak louder than words.”
Katy Perry, who was watching from the crowd, said in a video clip, “Thank God he has [YouTube Premium]. I don’t wanna see no ads.”
“I can’t believe that this is a headliner,” another person added. “this is just a mess no good production, horrible visuals, no outfit changes, no backup dancers and performing khia songs who made him headline?”
Not everyone was disappointed, though.
“Justin Bieber closes his Coachella performance with ‘Daisies,’” a third person chimed in. “And once again proves what an enormous artist he is and that he needs nothing more than himself and his voice to stand out.”
