SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — This year’s Missouri Comic-Con is currently underway at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds.
This 2-day celebration of pop culture features cosplays, celebrity guests, comic creators, artists, vendors, gaming and more.
Visit Springfield is estimating around 12,000 attendees and over $800K in economic impact by the end of the weekend.
Ozarks First spoke to some attendees on Saturday, both new and returning, about their experience.
“This is our first time actually,” said Maelyn Johnson. “It’s so much fun! All the celebrities we met have been so nice.”
“It’s the most welcoming atmosphere ever,” said Uriah, cosplaying a character from the Warhammer 40k universe. “You can come dressed up, you can come with normal clothes, and even if you want to throw something together that’s real simple, people are going to love it.
The event continues today, Sunday, April 12, running from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
