Robert Pattinson is a liar (complimentary) and I very much appreciate that he leans into Twilight questions. He’s not precious about being asked about “spider monkey” and this is a sign of a man who is secure with himself.
I need someone who knows a lot about real estate, divorce settlements, and mortgages to explain why Ben Affleck handed over his share of the $60 million albatross he purchased with Jennifer Lopez. My (admittedly uneducated) guess is that this property is mortgaged to the hilt, they haven’t been able to sell it, and Ben would rather forgo his down payment than continue paying the mortgage on it. Both of them have teams and money managers and all that stuff so I don’t think it’s as lopsided as “Ben gave her a mansion!” as it is being portrayed.
I’m a little…confused about the online discourse about The Pitt. There’s a subsection of the fandom that seems to purposely lean into the most “well actually…” interpretation of the scenes, expecting after-school special morality rather than an HBO show. This story, “Many The Pitt Fans Are Proving That Yes, It’s Possible To Be Bad At Watching A TV Show” has a clickbaity title (fans hate being told they are wrong) and is an interesting read. A show can be a character study and have cliffhangers (Breaking Bad did it well), but where a lot of the online pushback loses me is when the characters are criticized for having biases and flaws. Implicit bias in the medicine, especially when it comes from an unexpected person, makes sense as a storyline.
