Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb are getting the dynamic duo back together.
The television journalists and former “Today” show co-anchors, who hosted the morning newscast together for seven years, reunited on the show Monday, April 13, amid anchor Craig Melvin‘s spring break vacation.
After greeting viewers at the top of the show, Guthrie gave a sweet shoutout to Kotb’s return.
“[I’m] so glad to have you here, Hoda,” Guthrie, 54, said, to which Kotb replied, “I’m so happy sitting next to you in this chair again.”
Guthrie and Kotb, the first female hosting duo on “Today,” co-anchored the show from 2018 until Kotb’s departure last January.
“It’s good. It’s just like the old times!” Guthrie added on Monday’s show.

In February, Kotb returned to “Today” to fill in for Guthrie, who stepped away amid the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie.
Following a two-month hiatus, Guthrie made her return to “Today” on April 6. Authorities in Arizona continue to search for her mother, who they believe was taken from her home against her will. After rejoining Melvin behind the desk, Guthrie said it was “good to be home,” adding, “Well, here we go. Ready or not, let’s do the news.”

Guthrie opened up about going back to work amid her mother’s disappearance in an emotional interview with Kotb that aired on the “Today” show ahead of Guthrie’s return.
“I really wanted to come and see everybody. I just love this beautiful place that we call home, where we get to come and be every day,” she said in the March 27 interview. “And I know how much people have prayed for me and loved me. All the people you’ve seen on TV and then all the people that you don’t.”

The morning-show host said while said it’s “hard to imagine” coming back, she wanted to be with her “Today” show “family” again.
“It’s such a place of joy and lightness. I can’t come back and try to be something that I’m not. But I can’t not come back, because it’s my family,” she added. “I don’t know if I can do it. I don’t know if I’ll belong anymore. But I’d like to try.”
