Kim Kardashian has conquered modeling, TV, business and (almost) law — and now she’s coming for Broadway.
The reality star is expanding her resume as a producer of The Fear of 13, a new play by Lindsey Ferrentino that centers around the true story of Nick Yarris, who spent more than two decades on death row for a murder he insists he did not commit. The production will star two-time Oscar winner Adrien Brody and Golden Globe nominee Tessa Thompson in both of their Broadway debuts.
In a statement, Kardashian said, “My commitment to criminal justice reform has always been about more than just policy — it’s about people. I’ve learned that sometimes the most effective way to change minds is through a powerful story. The Fear of 13 is that story.”

Describing the project as a “raw, honest look at Nick Yarris’ wrongful conviction and the systemic failures that kept him behind bars for 20 years” she concluded, “I couldn’t be prouder to make my Broadway producing debut with a project that carries such vital weight.”
Kardashian has been a vocal advocate of criminal justice reform and previously teamed up with the Innocence Project to raise awareness for death row inmates seeking clemency. The organization, which is also partnered with The Fear of 13, endeavors to free the innocent, prevent wrongful convictions, and create fair, compassionate, and equitable systems of justice.
In a statement, the producers of The Fear of 13 said, “The message this play carries with it is urgent and we welcome Ms. Kardashian and her activism to this production and to our Broadway community. The work she has done to shine a much-needed light on criminal justice reform is exemplary and we are proud to be collaborating with her.”
The project marks a continuation of Kardashian’s years-long work supporting individuals she believes have been wrongfully incarcerated. Recent years have seen her help bring national attention to multiple cases, beginning in 2018, when she successfully pushed for clemency for Alice Marie Johnson, who had been serving a life sentence for a nonviolent drug offense.
Kardashian is also still in the process of studying to become a lawyer. Though she has completed a legal apprenticeship program in California, she has not yet passed the bar exam.

The Fear of 13 tells Yarris’ story, tracing his two decades on death row for a murder he insists he did not commit. Through a series of prison visits with a volunteer named Jacki, Nick recounts a life shaped by impulse and consequence as they confront ideas of justice, freedom, and self-determination.

Kardashian is not the first member of her family to turn her attention to theater. Two years ago, her eldest daughter played Simba in a Lion King live concert at the Hollywood Bowl in May 2024.
At the time, Kardashian noted on The Kardashians that she was aware nepotism played a factor in North landing the role and knew that she would be criticized for it. Still, she remarked that it was “such a proud moment as a mom to see your child have so much fun and not be nervous at all.”
She added, “She’s so proud of herself. She did such a great job. And anyone that is hating on a kid is just a hater, and she’s not there to be Mariah Carey.”
The Fear of 13 is set to celebrate its opening night on Wednesday, April 15 at the James Earl Jones Theatre.
