Disney has released new details about Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets and confirmed the first song on the track list. Electric Mayhem will perform Blur’s “Song 2” when the attraction opens summer 2026 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The announcement came alongside more story details.
“Song 2” Confirmed for Track List
Blur’s 1997 alternative rock anthem “Song 2” will be one of the tracks guests hear as they blast through the attraction. The high-energy song features the instantly recognizable “Woo-hoo!” hook and aggressive guitar riffs that fit perfectly with the coaster’s 0 to 57 mph launch.
Disney is revealing songs one at a time leading up to a “major announcement” on April 16.
The Story: Concert Rush Across Hollywood
The attraction’s storyline centers on Electric Mayhem headlining their biggest Hollywood concert. While VIP guests tour G-Force Records – now under new Muppet management thanks to Scooter’s uncle J.P. Grosse – the band is discovered jamming in the recording studio instead of at the venue.
Scooter tries to convince Electric Mayhem to stop recording and get to their increasingly restless fans. Guests will take a fast limousine ride across Hollywood with help from Muppet Labs to reach the concert in time.
The iconic Los Angeles scenery and landmarks will feature Muppet twists when the attraction debuts.
New Guitar Design Details
The vibrant psychedelic design on the Stratocaster guitar will be inspired by a classic Muppet car paint job. The bottom of the guitar receives the colorful makeover, while the piano motif at the base will feature a golden key as a nod to Dr. Teeth, Electric Mayhem’s far-out band leader.
Inside the Recording Studio
The preshow takes place inside G-Force Records, which has come under new management – The Muppets. J.P. Grosse, real estate tycoon and owner of the Muppet Theatre, helped the colorful crew acquire the legendary rock and roll recording studio.
Guests will see how The Muppets have made the hallowed halls their own, creating the perfect place to make Muppet music. The recording studio features Electric Mayhem cranking out rocking tunes with audio engineers – all penguins, of course.
Summer 2026 Opening
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opens summer 2026. The attraction is expected to debut around Memorial Day weekend based on the construction timeline, though Disney has not announced a specific date.
The ride system and track layout remain unchanged, delivering the same inversions and high-speed thrills with Electric Mayhem’s music and The Muppets’ humor throughout the experience.
