All the blues you want to hear, and it’s free?
That’s right, but there will be plenty to spend your money on at the Baton Rouge Blues Festival — drinks, food, merch. It all helps the festival and its nonprofit foundation keep the annual event a free one.
The festival officially kicks off with Friday’s Live After Five concert downtown.
Beyond that, here are five important things to know before heading out to the full day and evening of music on five stages downtown on Saturday:
WHERE DO I PARK?
Parking lots, parking garages and street parking are available downtown. If you’re riding a bike, BikeBR offers free monitored bike parking just outside the festival’s North Boulevard entrance.
CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINKS?
No. And no ice chests are allowed.
WHERE SHOULD I STAY?
Downtown has several hotels to choose from. Stay there and you’re close enough to walk to the festival.
HOW CAN I HELP?
Go to brblues.org/faqs and check out the options — volunteering, donating, becoming a vendor or applying to perform.
WHAT IS A BFF?
If you’re looking for the VIP experience, be a Blues Fest Fan by purchasing a $200 pass. This allows access to prime stage viewing sections, open bars and dining, indoor lounge and restrooms, 10% off merch purchases and discounted hotel rates, along with other benefits throughout the year.
*Designated Driver BFF passes start at $30, and passes for ages 8-20 are $20 and up.
