While plenty are known to frequent glamorous destination resorts like Aspen, St. Moritz, or Courchevel, others are more serious skiers or snowboarders, who hit the slopes more frequently throughout the season. It is no wonder that so many celebrities can be seen on the slopes — skiing and snowboarding are seen as exclusive sports and cost thousands of dollars to participate in. David Beckham is a retired English professional footballer and a global icon. He has said that one of his favorite places to snowboard is Island Lake Lodge in Fernie, British Columbia, which he goes to every year. Beckham is a serious snowboarder who enjoys hitting the back country on deep powder days, and his videos on his Instagram page prove it.

Patrick Dempsey is an American actor who is known for starring in the television series Grey’s Anatomy. He has been active in skiing since he was a child, when he had aspirations of making the U.S. Ski Team before a serious crash and injury led him to his acting career. He has skied the Streif, which is one of the most iconic downhill race courses in the world. He is active with the U.S. Ski and Snowboard team as a member of the Board of Trustees. Dempsey was also an executive producer of the documentary Threshold about U.S. cross-country skiing legend Jessie Diggins. Besides his love of skiing, Dempsey is very active in other sports such as motor racing and cycling. He founded Dempsey Racing in 2006.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the most famous and recognizable people in the world. The former bodybuilder won five Mr. Universe titles and seven Mr. Olympia titles. He went on to acting and became one of the biggest action movie stars of all time. Schwarzenegger was also the Governor of California from 2003 to 2011. He was born in Austria, a country known for skiing, but didn’t learn to ski until later in his life. He has been known to ski at Sun Valley, Idaho, which is known to attract the rich and famous. However, Schwarzenegger is known for his no-nonsense approach to life, which doesn’t fit in with wearing the latest fads on the slopes. Instead, he wears ski clothes and uses gear that would make him blend in on the slopes, if he weren’t 200 plus pounds, 6 foot 2 inches, and well, Arnold Schwarzenegger. He has admitted in interviews that skiing moguls is not his forte, but he does well on other types of terrain. Schwarzenegger also visits Kitzbühel, Austria, for the annual Hahnenkamm ski races, where he hosts a climate charity dinner.

Lewis Hamilton is considered one of the greatest Formula One race drivers of all time. Hamilton has the F1 record for career race victories and is tied (7) with Michael Schumacher for Driver’s Championships. He doesn’t fly on the F1 course; he also rips down the mountains when snowboarding. Videos of Hamilton heli-snowboarding in Antarctica and British Columbia, smashing powder through the glades, and hitting tricks with pros demonstrate how talented he is on the slopes. Hamilton has a home in Colorado and spends his winters skiing there, and has been spotted in Aspen Snowmass. He has also gone snowboarding at Niseko, Japan, hitting the deep powder at the snowiest place on Earth.

Bear Grylls is the ultimate survivalist and is known for his shows Man vs. Wild and You vs Wild. He’s been to all types of environments around the world and is one of the youngest climbers to ever summit Mount Everest at the age of 23 in 1998. Grylls has been to the Swiss Alps, Antarctica, Japan, the Sierra Nevadas, and many other places in between. He excels at steep terrain and the backcountry. He has promoted skiing at Rusutsu Resort in Japan and enjoys hitting elite ski areas. Grylls even kite-skied in 2008 on an expedition to Antarctica.

Gordon Ramsay is a globally known chef, restaurateur, and TV star who has seven Michelin-starred restaurants. Ramsay is known for being adventurous, an outdoorsman, and a world traveler. He has skied multiple locations in Europe, including Lech in Austria and Courchevel, France. He has also been spotted at Vail, Colorado, and sometimes combines his winter trips to coincide with his culinary TV shows. Ramsay might do his best cooking in the kitchen, but he can still cook while flying down the mountain.
7. Chelsea Handler

Chelsea Handler is the brash, no-holds-barred, stand-up comedian from the United States who might be the biggest fan of skiing on this list. She hosted the E! late-night talk show Chelsea Lately from 2007 to 2014 and today continues to tour and do her stand-up comic routines around the country. When she’s not touring around the country doing her shows, she is touring around the world skiing. Checking out her social media accounts almost makes her look like she’s a ski influencer. There are multiple posts of her skiing with family and friends in British Columbia, Norway, Antarctica, Finland, and the United States. She may be the most famous skier for going bikini skiing every year for her birthday. There’s no question that she loves skiing and winter.
