Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being slammed for their unofficial Australian tour.
Despite leaving The Firm in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have embarked on multiple philanthropic trips across the globe, with many condemning the visits as a way to feel connected to the monarchy.
“The palace is unhappy about these rent-a-royal tours because it blatantly disregards Queen Elizabeth II‘s very specific instruction that there can be no half-in, half-out for the Sussexes,” commentator Kinsey Schofield told Fox News Digital.

“All they are doing in Australia is monetizing their titles and clinging to royal relevance, even though most of Prince Harry’s family refuse to take his phone calls,” she claimed.
After Meghan’s As Ever brand cut ties with Netflix and Harry has seemed to struggle to find his place, the pair are once again using their titles to make money.
“The purpose of the Australian tour is monetary, but it is also to look like royals because the world has rejected Harry and Meghan as reality stars and podcasters,” Schofield said.
“Their relevance remains through their proximity to the British royal family. The royal family thinks it’s disrespectful,” the YouTube star added.

British broadcaster Helena Chard emphasized how the Spare author and the Suits star cannot have their cake and eat it too when it comes to life outside of The Firm.
“This faux royal roadshow elevates the Sussex brand while undermining the very institution that gave them the platform,” she told the publication. “The Australians are asking: ‘Who exactly is this tour for?’”
According to biographer Robert Hardman, the royal family is likely not thrilled with Harry and Meghan’s recent trips.
“I’m sure [Buckingham Palace] would prefer that Harry and Meghan weren’t going, but there’s not a lot they can do about it,” he told Page Six.

“They have no control. There will undoubtedly be a sense of confusion about what Harry and Meghan are there for this trip may stick in the gullet of the palace,” the writer noted.
Ted Jenkin, the Managing Partner of Exit Wealth Advisors, believes Harry and Meghan could earn $10 million for their appearances and speaking engagements Down Under.
“Meghan and Harry could make money from audience aggregation, premium access, brand leverage,” the expert told Page Six.
