This week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their controversial trip to Australia, which the internet has been anticipating for quite some time. Despite residents creating a petition asking that the couple not use any taxpayer money for security or other reasons during their “private trip,” and a wave of people discouraging them from going at all, they not only went but also made various appearances.
To close out their trip, Harry and Meghan attended a private charity event, the InterEdge Summit in Melbourne. The prince was a keynote speaker for the evening and made a long, vulnerable speech about his mental health and grief, particularly reflecting on the chapter of his life after his famous mother, Princess Diana, was tragically killed in a car accident just before he turned 13 in 1997. He mentioned how the incident made him want to detach himself from his royal lifestyle and duties at a young age.
“I was like, ‘I don’t want this job.
