Samuel L. Jackson and Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming series Frisco King has received a notable update, with newly released set images offering a first look at the production. The development also comes with a release window, providing idea about when the series is expected to arrive as filming gets underway.

Frisco King is officially in production

Frisco King has moved into production, confirming that the Paramount+ spinoff is now actively filming. The update was shared through newly released material from the set, featuring Samuel L. Jackson in his lead role alongside Sylvester Stallone.

Production started in late March in North Texas and is expected to continue through July. Filming is taking place across multiple cities, including Fort Worth, Dallas, Plano, Frisco, Keller, Denton, and Southlake.

Behind-the-scenes images shared by Stallone confirm the start of production. Jackson and Stallone are seen together in costume, reviewing scripts and interacting between takes, while director Christina Alexandra Voros is also present during filming. The caption read, “From one king to another. Frisco King is now in production! #FriscoKing.”

Additional video from the set offers insights into the early stages of filming. In a behind-the-scenes video, Stallone is seen speaking with Jackson about the new project. “Sam, we’re here to kick off your new show,” Stallone says, to which Jackson replies, “Frisco King… Am I a king yet? I’m working on it.”

Stallone responds by praising his costar, noting that their first scene together “turned out fantastic.” He added, “It’s going to be a stellar show. [Jackson] is spectacular in this. Don’t miss it.”

The show expands the world of Tulsa King, with Jackson taking on the lead role of Russell Lee Washington Jr., a hitman character previously introduced in the original series. Taylor Sheridan is writing all eight episodes of the first season.

Additional cast members include Asa Germann, Savanna Gann, Lilah Pate, and Kai Caster. The series is currently expected to premiere in 2027.
