Lil Wayne Lyric Notebook To Be Auctioned Off For $5 Million
A notebook rapper Lil Wayne owned in 1999 that is filled with handwritten lyrics is being sold at auction for $5 million.

Rap star Lil Wayne says he continues to be excluded from mainstream music events.
The “A Milli” emcee, born Dwayne Carter, shared his disappointment with his fans on X over the weekend.
“It’s truly a humbling experience when events like Coachella & the Grammys come around & like clockwork, I’m uninvited & uninvolved,” Wayne, 43, wrote.
He continued: “I appreciate my position or space I hold in ya heart & mind if so bc you’re the humbling experience that’s timeless & 4dat I thk u.”
It’s not the first time the rapper has publicly shared the reflections. He made viral remarks about the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show after he wasn’t tapped to perform in his hometown, New Orleans. Kendrick Lamar got the gig.
Lil Wayne on not being selected as Super Bowl headliner
In September 2024, Lil Wayne expressed his disappointment over not being selected for Super Bowl LIX, stating that the NFL’s decision “broke” him.
“I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown and for just automatically mentally putting myself in that position,” the rapper said in an Instagram Live at the time. “I thought there was nothing better than that spot, that stage, that platform, in my city. So it hurt, it hurt a whole lot.”
Wayne’s reaction sparked an online debate over whether he should have been chosen to perform instead. He later cleared the air during a podcast appearance, stating that he wished Lamar “all the best” ahead of his performance.
Lamar touched on the controversy in the intro track of his surprise album “GNX.”
“Used to bump ‘Tha Carter III,’ I held my Rollie chain proud/ Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down,” Lamar rapped, referencing Wayne’s mega-popular 2008 album “Tha Carter III.”
In another line, he didn’t hold anything back: “Won the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulate me/ All these (expletive) agitated/ I’m just glad it’s on their faces/ Quite frankly, plenty artist but they outdated/ Old (expletive) flows trying to convince me that you they favorite.”
In an interview last April with Rolling Stone, Wayne spoke about the matter again, saying he ruled out ever performing at the major sporting event.
“They stole that feeling,” he told the outlet. “I don’t want to do it. It was perfect.”
