See inside the new Wilderness on Wheels unit from the park district
Wilderness of Wheels is a new way for the Ross County Park District to share the parks with everyone in the community.
Spring is springing a little chillier this weekend but don’t let that stop you from getting out there and attending some cool events (see what I did there.) Grab a jacket and check out what is happening in our area this weekend.
April 23
Start your weekend with trivia at Stockroom601 in Jackson with Lori G at 7 p.m. The first-place team takes home a $50 SR gift card and second place receives a $25 gift card. Cameron Mitchell hosts Music Bingo at Fifty West Brewing Company at 6:30 p.m. and in Waverly, DJ Roush brings music trivia to Beast and Bottle at 6:30 p.m. A $50 gift card goes to the winner. Hazel’s Roadshow, featuring DJ Hazel, brings “All 70’s & All 80’s music” to you at 5 p.m. in Yoctangee Park at the gazebo. This entertainment is free and open to the public.
April 24
Experience the magic of three legendary bands Foreigner, Journey, and Boston at the Majestic Theatre. Fronted by Brandon Miller, touring guitarist of the Artimus Pyle Band and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame drummer of Lynyrd Skynyrd, A Foreigner’s Journey to Boston delivers the iconic hits that defined a generation. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets available at majesticchillicothe.net.
April 25
Join Lori G Comedy, presented by Lori G Presents, for a fun day in downtown Chillicothe as the Mrs. Roper Bar Crawl takes over the streets from 1 to 7 p.m. This 21 and over event invites Helen Roper fans to break out their caftans and enjoy a self-guided crawl through participating downtown stops, featuring themed activities. The first 100 registered attendees will receive a swag bag before heading out on the crawl. A group photo will take place at 4 p.m. on the courthouse steps, captured by local photographer Gunner Barnes, with additional photo opportunities including a 360 booth hosted by DJ Marcus Harris at one of the stops. Guests can complete activities during the crawl to earn raffle tickets for prizes, with the drawing being held at The Dock at 6 p.m. Winners must be present. Shady Ray will take the stage at the Dock at Water at 7 p.m. and Garage Fire will play the Crosskeys Tavern 9 p.m. to midnight. At the Majestic Theatre, the “DIRTY DEEDS” concert experience will be truly extreme featuring “two” high energy shows complete with exciting stage props and non stop action. The first show is dedicated to the Bon Scott era and the second show is a tribute to the Brian Johnson era. Assembled by former members of several popular AC/DC tribute bands, this all star cast is bringing the ultimate AC/DC tribute show to new heights with the most accurate recreation of the AC/DC music and stage show. Tickets are available at majesticchillicothe.net. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
April 26
Hazel’s Roadshow, featuring DJ Hazel, brings gospel/contemporary Christian/hip hop Christian (old and new) to you from 3 to 7 p.m. in Yoctangee Park at the gazebo. This entertainment is free and open to the public.
April 27
Fun happens with DJ Roush as he hosts trivia night at Wagner’s Roadhouse starting at 6:30 p.m.
April 28
The Crosskeys Tavern and DJ Roush host music trivia starting at 6:30 p.m. Come out and see if you can name the tune.
Looking ahead
Ohio’s premier Elvis Presley tribute act, Aron Jones and the Kool Kats, will be back at the historic Paxton Theatre on Saturday, May 2 at 7 p.m. Known for their energy, musicality, and top shelf performances, these legends will bring the King’s greatest hits to life with a night of pure entertainment.
