I’m A Celebrity… South Africa star Sinitta has denied Adam Thomas bullying claims and her reported ‘feud’ with co-star Gemma Collins
I’m A Celebrity… South Africa star Sinitta has denied accusations of bullying, though she’s acknowledged that situations “can go too far”.
The All Stars edition has been full of tension both in and out the jungle, with apparent friction between Sinitta and Gemma Collins.
In addition, Jimmy Bullard and Adam Thomas found themselves in a fiery exchange, and just days before, the ex-Emmerdale actor had also locked horns with Dave Haye.
David faced criticism after he had a go at the Waterloo Road performer when Adam withdrew from the Termite Terror trial due to feeling unwell, reports Wales Online.
During the incident, David called Adam, who lives with psoriatic arthritis, “useless”, prompting viewers to suggest he was being “bullied.”.
Yet during a segment on Thursday’s (23rd April) Good Morning Britain, campmate Sinitta insisted there was “no bullying in camp”.
Chatting with presenters Richard Madeley and Kate Garraway, alongside showbiz correspondent Richard Arnold, she elaborated: “I mean, It made for great telly, but I have to say, I was there, we all got on so well and it’s almost a shame all of this.”
She added: “We didn’t have social media back in the 80s so this is like an extra bit that I wasn’t expecting. We got on so well that we were planning holidays and having lunch.
“Gemma and I went to Daphne’s, she knows all the best places to eat. So I was kind of shocked that (people were saying) we weren’t friends.”
Tackling the bullying allegations, Sinitta stated: “The whole bullying thing, there was no bullying. If you remember, when we were in two separate camps, it was actually Adam goading David with ‘haha look we’ve got this and you haven’t’.”
She acknowledged that David’s banter may have crossed a line, but insisted she would have intervened if genuine bullying had occurred. She said: “It’s this thing where it can go too far with teasing and someone gets upset. But there were no feelings of anyone being bullied.
“Because I wouldn’t have been able to tolerate that. I’m so sensitive and I would have been on the phone like to the headmaster saying, ‘guys, you need to come down and fix this.'”
Turning to her alleged ‘feud’ with Gemma, the singer dismissed claims that she’d been selling stories about the GC to the media.
Sinitta remarked: “Well, I’m supposed to have sold stories about Gemma and I haven’t done that. I don’t know why or how that’s come about. But also I don’t know her well enough or know enough about her to sell stories about her.
“Anyway, even if I did do that stuff, I would probably pick someone I knew a little better., I’m just saying.”
