Reno Pro Soccer started demolition Thursday on the former Jones West Ford site for its new stadium project.

The proposed 6,000-seat stadium will be home to a USL professional men’s team and will include an entertainment district with bars and restaurants as well as a 301-room hotel and a locally operated small-establishment casino.

According to Reno Pro Soccer CEO Wendy Damonte, “Next steps include meeting before the planning commission and the City of Reno to get all of our approvals. Once that happens, we will come back together at this very site to do a groundbreaking for this development built by locals for locals. We hope to see everyone here in October or November of this year.”

Once completed, “The Boulevard” development will stand on Kietzke Lane – just north of Peckham.

Phase one of the project will include a soccer stadium with more than 6,000 seats, plus suites and club seating, according to a release from Reno Pro Soccer.

It will also have a walkable entertainment district with new bars, restaurants, and retail, as well as a 301-room hotel and a locally operated small-establishment casino.

The casino will offer gambling and a sportsbook, and will be operated by local owner Dean DiLullo of the Carson Nugget.

The project will also provide flexible community spaces for events, meetings, and gatherings, as well as more than 1,200 parking spaces to support accessibility.

Reno Pro Soccer says the project should generate more than 1,100 new jobs.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE (OCTOBER 17, 2025):

Reno Pro Soccer has unveiled plans for a new stadium to be built at the former Jones West Ford site.

The proposed 6,000-seat stadium will be home to a USL professional men’s team and will also include an entertainment district.

The stadium will be home to a USL Championship team, which is just one step behind MLS. That is until the USL Division One league starts in 2027, the same year the stadium is set to open.

There is still a lot that needs to happen before people fill the stadium.

“Well, first step is we have to get our conditional use permit,” said Wendy Damonte, CEO of Reno Pro Soccer. “So, we anticipate that happening early next year. And then once that happens then we go after investors. And when that happens we break ground. And we have a beautiful stadium right here in the heart of Reno.”

The entire stadium is set to cost $80 million. The team also looks to bring an entertainment district, the total could be more than $200 million.

Damonte says she’s still figuring how it’s going to all be funded.

“So far, it’s completely private and we’re really proud and we’re going to keep moving down that lane,” she said. “Again, we’re doing this for the community. We are going to do what’s best for our community. We got to get this built, but private funding is what got us here, and we’re going after it.”

When asked if they’ve looked into something like tax increment financing, which is what the Grand Sierra Resort is using for its expansion, she said she has not thought that far.

In the coming months, Reno Pro Soccer will gather community input to help shape the club’s identity, including team name, brand colors, crest, and matchday experience.

Reno Pro Soccer has been granted the rights by the United Soccer League (USL) to own and operate a USL club beginning play in 2027.
