Donald Trump has revealed he will discuss “everything” with King Charles in the upcoming state visit.
Speaking to Reuters, US President said Iran, Nato and the UK’s digital services tax will be among the topics the two will discuss when the monarch arrives.
“I’m going to talk about everything,” Mr Trump said during a phone interview.
“I’m going to talk about it. He is a friend of mine, and he is a great guy.”
The King and Queen Camilla are due in the US on April 27 for a four-day trip.
They will visit three locations: Washington DC, New York and Virginia.
The trip coincides with America’s celebration of 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
But the King’s arrival comes against the backdrop of worsening relations between the UK and the US.

Mr Trump has publicly hammered Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
Earlier today, the President threatened to slap Britain with all-new tariffs if it does not drop its “cash grab” tax on American companies.
“We’ve been looking at it and we can meet that very easily by just putting a big tariff on the UK, so they better be careful,” he told reporters in the Oval Office.
“If they don’t drop the tax, we’ll probably put a big tariff on the UK.”

The digital services tax, which came into effect in 2020, imposes a two per cent levy on the revenues of a number of major US tech companies.
The president has also blasted Sir Keir for his policy on immigration and Net Zero, as well as his failure to support the US-Israeli offensive in Iran.
However, Mr Trump has insisted the fractious relationship with the PM will not overshadow the King’s arrival.
In fact, when asked if the state visit could go some way to repairing the weakening relationship, he said: “Absolutely. He’s fantastic. He’s a fantastic man. Absolutely the answer is yes.”
He added: “I know him well, I’ve known him for years. He’s a brave man, and he’s a great man. They would absolutely be a positive.”
Buckingham Palace has said the visit presents an opportunity to acknowledge the shared heritage between UK and the US.
It will also highlight the extensive economic, security and cultural bonds that have developed over two and a half centuries.
Following the American tour, the King will continue to Bermuda for a Royal Visit between May 1 and 2, representing his inaugural trip as Sovereign to a British Overseas Territory.
