The Hudson Valley is a hub of creative activity. From galleries to writing spaces, there are so many towns that are buzzing with creativity.
Hudson, New York is one of those places. Long Pond Studio is a popular recording studio owned and operated by Aaron Dessner.
Dessner is part of the bad The National and Long Pond Studio is part of his private residence, but he invites some pretty big names to come to town and record.
In a recent Instagram post, we’ve learned that a huge name in music recorded his latest project right here in the Hudson Valley.
Noah Kahan Records 4th Studio Album in the Hudson Valley
Fans of singer-songwriter Noah Kahan have been patiently waiting for his 4th album, a follow up to his massive 2022 album Stick Season.
Kahan is a native of Strafford, Vermont and found an insane amount of fame after his song Stick Season took off in 2021 on social media apps like TikTok.
After the success of Stick Season, Kahan hit the road playing huge festivals and venues, even selling out Fenway Park.
On April 24th, 2026, Kahan’s album The Great Divide was officially released. We learned that the album was recorded in the Hudson Valley at the iconic Long Pond Studio.
Aaron Dessner took to Instagram and wrote “I’m so excited to share that @noahkahanmusic‘s new album “The Great Divide” is finally out in the world today. I feel so grateful and honored to have played a part in writing and recording this record with Noah.”
The post goes on to add that Noah had been out to Hudson to visit Long Pond in November of 2024, not knowing how the project would shape out. Dessner writes:
We made Porch Light in a few hours of that first day at Long Pond and didn’t look back until the sounds of crickets waning in the last days of August the next year.

Taylor Swift Films Documentary at Long Pond Studio
In the summer of 2020, the one and only Taylor Swift released a surprise 8th album. It’s called folklore.
A few months later in November of 2020, Swift announced a documentary of sorts called “folklore: the long pond studio sessions” exclusively on Disney +.
Yes, that’s right. The same Long Pond Studio that we spoke about above, right here in the Hudson Valley.

Swift has ties to the area as she has performed at Bethel Woods numerous times and visited the area for some apple picking back in 2010.
As a Swift fan, it was cool to see her record some of my favorite songs in my neck of the woods.
