“Real Housewives of OC’”s Emily Simpson Flaunts Her Slim Figure in Bikini amid Dramatic Weight-Loss Journey

Throughout the years, the Real Housewives of Orange County star, 50, has been candid about her physical transformation, sharing details on how she’s lost weight through lifestyle shifts, plastic surgery and medication.

Earlier this week, the reality star and mom shared a one-year update on her appearance with a before-and-after video posted to Instagram. The first clip featured was taken in April 2025 and showed her wearing an all-black athleisure look, complete with leggings and a crop top.

Her husband, Shane, got in the frame to transition that video to the second clip, which was of Simpson modeling a plaid bikini and flaunting her toned figure.

Dolores Catania, Tamra Judge, Gina Kirschenheiter and Khloé Kardashian were among the stars who commented with support.

In 2023, Simpson underwent surgery for liposuction on her arms as well as a breast reduction.

“I felt like it was just a huge difference in my overall look,” Simpson shared of the enhancements during a 2023 appearance on Jeff Lewis’ SiriusXM show. “Just to have the thinner arms and just the smaller chest. And I was so happy with the surgery. I have so much muscle underneath that when he [her doctor] did the liposuction, my arms were just jacked.”

And while she previously shut down rumors about taking Ozempic, a medication that entered the celebrity zeitgeist for its weight loss effects, Simpson later revealed on air that she ended up using the GLP-1 after a doctor recommended it to address some of her health issues, including high cholesterol, zero testosterone and pre-diabetes.

She called it a “great kickstart” and lost 5 to 7 lbs., but stopped because she didn’t like the way it made her feel. “It made me feel lethargic, and it made me just not have a lot of energy, which was hard with three little kids,” Simpson said. “It does make you feel full,” she said.

In September 2023, she opened up about gaining 40 lbs. at age 42 and being able to shed her weight and “feel like” her old self again in her late 40s. She wrote on Instagram, “Just to be clear though… I rocked a bathing suit on TV for 5 years and never felt ugly or not confident in myself or my body. Not once.”

“I am the strongest (mentally and physically) right now … at age 47 … and I will continue to improve myself daily. My only competition is Me ❤️💪🏻,” she added.
