Dakota Sweeney was arrested on April 22 after Carroll County law enforcement responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in Carrollton, Mo., according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol press release. A woman was found dead at the scene, with a witness identifying Sweeney as a suspect.
TMZ reports Summer House star West Wilson’s grandmother, Gayle R. Wilson, as the woman killed, and Sweeney is his cousin.
Sweeney was arrested on site without incident and has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. KCTV reports that Sweeney’s step-grandfather witnessed the shooting and told authorities that Sweeney and Gayle R. Wilson had argued earlier in the evening over chores. The local outlet also reports Sweeney has since pleaded not guilty to both charges.
West Wilson’s father, Bruce, and Sweeney’s mother, Kelly, are Gayle’s stepchildren.
Entertainment Weekly has reached out to local authorities and a rep for West Wilson for further comment.

The alleged murder took place the night before West Wilson filmed the highly anticipated Summer House season 10 reunion.
Weeks before the reunion taping, West Wilson and costar Amanda Batula recently confirmed their rumored romance that has shocked both the reality show’s fandom and cast. Batula was best friends with West Wilson’s ex, Ciara Miller, and West Wilson was close with Kyle Cooke, to whom Batula had been married for four years before they announced their split in January.

Leaked audio from the taping surfaced after Andy Cohen, who typically hosts the reunions, shared on his Instagram Story that the event had been “one of the most intense we’ve ever shot.” Bravo quickly launched an investigation into the audio leak, which featured a heated back-and-forth between various cast members and the newly public couple.
Bravo announced on Sunday that it had concluded its investigation into the audio leak — and Cohen says a Bravo fan evidently “cracked the case” by delivering “crucial information.”
