Lisa Kudrow’s Friends costars are reportedly not happy that she revealed that they’re still raking in millions of dollars a year in residuals.
“The others were stunned Lisa said it out loud,” a source told Rob Shuter for his Naughty But Nice Substack on Thursday, April 30. “Nobody talks about the money. That has always been the unspoken rule.”
Kudrow, along with Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, and David Schwimmer, each earn $20 million per year, despite the show ending more than 20 years ago, the Comeback star claimed. Their sixth costar, Matthew Perry, tragically died in October 2023.

“They’ve always been disciplined about it,” another source told Shuter. “You never hear Jen talking about residuals. You never hear Courteney talking about syndication checks. There’s a reason for that.”

According to the insider, Kudrow “put a target on all of their backs.”
“It’s not that Lisa said something false. It’s that she said something everyone else knew better than to say,” the source noted.
Friends ran for 10 seasons on NBC between 1994 and 2004. The castmates famously re-negotiated their contracts as a team in 2002. Each of the core six agreed to a historic $1 million per episode salary for the final two seasons of the series.
