Inside, twelve-foot brick barrel-vaulted ceilings sit above oversized arched windows that flood every inch of the apartment with light.
Complemented by wide-plank white oak floors and custom blackened steel beams, these industrial accents work together to give the apartment an unmistakable downtown soul.

Vesta’s vision for 36 Bleecker Street was defined by a clear objective to take the quintessential downtown loft and elevate it to a new standard of quiet luxury.
‘The staging for 36 Bleecker was approached with a gallery-like sensibility, keeping the furnishings soft, neutral, and highly edited to showcase the dramatic vaulted ceilings,’ comments Melinda Wolrab, a designer at Vesta.
‘We used a soft, tonal palette and sculptural forms to create a sense of calm and cohesion, allowing the architecture and its scale, light, and historic detailing to remain the focal point. The design draws from the layered character of NoHo expressed through a curated, textural approach that feels like a contemporary gallery within a vibrant, bustling neighborhood.’

As mentioned, natural light moves through the apartment without obstruction, serving as the primary foundation for the entire design.
Melinda began with this airy, open feel to create a neutral base palette, then layered in chocolate browns and deeper accents for a sense of depth and drama. Curved silhouettes, textural fabrics, and geometric patterns on the rugs and cushions provide sophisticated visual interest throughout the home.
‘We leaned into an electric layering approach and introduced a mix of Vesta’s hero pieces, including the Sadie sofa, Masdar coffee table, and Brunswick console, layered with bespoke vintage leather chairs to bring in warmth and contrast,’ Melinda explains.
‘Each element was selected to balance proportion and flow, creating moments of interest while maintaining an overall sense of restraint. The goal was to create a space that feels both timeless and distinctly downtown – elevated yet livable, where the design enhances the building’s heritage while offering a refined, modern perspective on luxury living.’
