Meghan Markle posted a series of clips to her Instagram stories on Thursday, April 30, showing off her chicken coop.
Joined by Los Angeles-based chocolatier Jonathan Grahm, with whom she collaborated on a special Mother’s Day collection for her lifestyle brand As Ever, the 44-year-old shared a pair of videos from the Sussexes’ Montecito mansion. Four-year-old Lilibet could be heard in the background of the video speaking in an adorable American accent.
“When the chocolate man comes to see the chickens. Compartes is here, and there’s Hill and Jill!” Meghan said as she turned the camera to pan the coop.
Lilibet, whose face was hidden, called out to her mom, proudly exclaiming, “Mom, I got another grey one!” to which Meghan replied, “Thanks, sweetheart!”
The red-haired youngster wore a pink dress in the rare sighting. Lilibet’s voice was first revealed in January 2025, when Meghan shared a tribute to the family’s beloved beagle, Guy, featuring both Lilibet and Archie.
After tying the knot in 2018, Meghan and Harry moved to California in 2020, giving up their titles as working members of the Royal family to raise their children in the United States, where Meghan was born and raised.
While Lilibet’s big brother was born in London the year before the Sussexes moved across the pond, Meghan and Prince Harry‘s youngest was born in Santa Barbara, California, in 2021.
The rare Lilibet sighting comes as the former royals have reportedly been at odds over their kids’ social media presence, with Harry keen to protect them from the public eye and Meghan open to sharing more details about their personal lives.
The mother of two recently faced backlash after a rumor circulated online that she had trademarked both her children’s names.
With Archie’s 7th birthday on May 6 and Lilibet’s 5th on June 4, it remains unclear whether the Sussexes will follow the Royal Family’s tradition of celebrating birthdays by sharing a portrait.
The couple has refrained from posting their children’s faces on social media, often sharing photos of the kiddos with emojis over their faces or from behind.
The 41-year-old Prince and his wife cited privacy concerns as a major motivation to move to California, which is especially important to Harry given that his mother, Princess Diana, was killed in a car accident in 1997 after being pursued by paparazzi in Paris.
