FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — The Florence Food Truck Festival returned this weekend, bringing a mix of food, live entertainment, and family-friendly fun to the Florence Center for its second and final day.
More than 20 food truck vendors participated in the event, offering a wide variety of options ranging from baked goods to international cuisine, along with popular drinks that drew in crowds throughout the weekend.
The festival kicked off Friday with strong attendance, as some vendors reported serving more than 300 customers in a single day.
However, rainy weather on Saturday led to a slight dip in turnout.
Still, organizers and vendors say the community showed up.
“Today is kind of gloomy, but yesterday was great,” said Matthew Gause, owner of Fire and Feast Catering Company, a family-run business participating in the festival for the first time.
“People came out, experienced different types of foods, and we’re really thankful for the support.”
In addition to food, attendees enjoyed live performances, including a stepping routine by students from Lucy T. Davis Elementary School.
Festival-goer Raheim Alexander, who has attended in previous years, said he initially worried the weather might cancel the event, but decided to come anyway.
“I thought it may have been rained out, but I saw the trucks and decided to come here and get me something to eat,” Alexander said.

To wrap up the weekend, the Swamp Fox Old Car Club hosted a car show featuring a “Top 25” selection and a Best in Show award.
The Florence Food Truck Festival continues through Saturday evening, with food trucks scheduled to serve until 8 p.m. at the Florence Center on West Radio Road.
