After two seasons and 32 episodes, the series finale of Watson concludes the story, as it was not renewed for a third season. Morris Chestnut stars as Dr. Watson, resuming his career in the medical field after the death of Sherlock Holmes. In season two, episode 20, “The Cobalt Fissure,” a seemingly random murder outside the University Hospital for Outpatient Patients and the Holmes Clinic brings back a character from Dr. Watson and Sherlock Holmes’ past. This episode not only closes out the second season of Watson but also the series overall, wrapping up Dr. Watson’s story in this unique take on the classic characters.

This series followed Chestnut as Dr. Watson a year after the death of Holmes at the hands of his nemesis, James Moriarty. That led to Dr. Watson getting back to his roots in medicine, treating patients with rare and undiagnosable conditions in honor of his friend.
Watson also stars Eve Harlow as Dr. Ingrid Derian, Peter Mark Kendall as twin brothers, Rithie Coster as Shinwell Johnson, and Rochelle Aytes as Dr. Mary Morstan. In season one, Randall Park guest starred as Moriarty. Robert Carlyle played Holmes, while Matt Berry voiced hallucinations of his voice.
