Now, reports claim Charles’s recent meeting with Mr Trump has left Harry “on tenterhooks” about his future with the royals.
Sources added that while Harry is focused on potentially resolving his row with his royal relatives, Meghan thinks he needs to step in.
A source told Closer magazine: “Harry is doing his best to stay pragmatic and anytime questions about why Charles is meeting with Trump come up, he’s quick to point out that it’s simply part of his father’s role. But he does admit that the whole situation has been keeping him up at night.”
“Of course, it’s tough for Harry to sit on the sidelines while his dad breaks bread with someone who seems to want to have him and his wife thrown out of the country.”
The source added about Meghan’s approach: “In her view, this is exactly the kind of situation where Harry should be standing his ground, not making excuses for his father. Meghan is fuming and saying it sends the wrong message if they let this go unchallenged.
“She’s taking it very personally and doesn’t understand how Harry can simply sit back and try to explain this away.
“But his stance is that they need to keep their eyes on the prize and not do anything that could jeopardise their long-term goal of rebuilding their relationship with his family.”
It comes as during an interview while on a trip to Ukraine last month, Harry rejected claims that he is “not a working royal”.
Harry told ITV that he will always be part of the Royal Family and continue public service work.
He claimed that he sees himself as continuing the work he was “born to do,” saying he values humanitarian trips, the people he meets, and the ability to draw attention to issues that fall out of the news cycle when other events dominate.
