WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The’62 Center for Theatre and Dance’s ensembles will take the stage with three performances that capture everything extraordinary about dance and music at Williams College. This spring, the ensembles come together to share contemporary dance, African movement traditions, and the vibrant sounds of Zimbabwe and the African Diaspora.
CoDa (Contemporary Dance Ensemble) will bring bold, inventive movement that keeps the audience wanting more. The CoDa Performance will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. on the MainStage.
Kusika masterfully weaves African dance traditions into engaging storytelling, demonstrations of community, and physical dynamism, all at once. The Ensemble Showcase: Works from CoDa and Kusika will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. outside Chapin Hall (Rain Location: MainStage).
The Zambezi Marimba Band will fill the room with joyful, rhythmically unstoppable music rooted in Zimbabwe, reaching across the African Diaspora and beyond. The Kusika & Zambezi Performance will be held on Saturday at 7 p.m. on the MainStage.
