Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have spent very little time in the UK, with their last visit taking place back in June 2022. The young royals travelled with their parents to mark the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
Lilibet turned one during the visit and is also thought to have met her paternal grandfather, King Charles, for the first time. Archie, who celebrated his seventh birthday on Wednesday, was born in the UK in 2019 but has only made one visit since the Sussexes moved to California.
The couple, who announced that they wanted to step down as senior working royals in early 2020, moved to the US shortly before their son’s first birthday.
Harry has previously expressed enthusiasm about his family’s future, with that including potential visits to his home country.
“It’s been good to reconnect with the causes I am passionate about. I have been able to spend some time with people that I have known for so long. It is hard to do it from far away.”
Asked if he would bring his children to the UK, Harry said: “Yes I would. This week has definitely brought that closer.”
Like her children, Meghan Markle has not visited the UK since September 2022.
