Jimmy Kimmel is full of interesting takes when it comes to Donald Trump‘s recent presidential actions.
During Wednesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, the late-night host shared Trump’s latest comments on the ongoing U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, in which the president first voiced optimism for a peace deal after Iran said it’s reviewing the latest U.S. proposal to end the war. But then, Trump threatened that if Iran rejects the U.S. offer, he could order “higher-level” military strikes.
“According to sources familiar with [the U.S. offer], it would include a moratorium on uranium enrichment for a period of longer than 10 years, which would be only 5 years shorter than the 15-year deal Obama made that Trump called the worst deal in history,” Kimmel explained to his audience Wednesday night. “And now he’s going to top it by making an even worse worst deal in history. It’s called The Art of the Deal. Folks, you should read the book.”

Kimmel continued, mocking Trump for his threat to launch military strikes. “His list of threats is now longer than Kash Patel’s bar tab,” the comedian quipped. “I wonder which will open first, the Strait of Hormuz or his ballroom?”
“But this is how he does it,” Kimmel continued over the laughter of his audience. “For him, a negotiation, it’s like sex. He’s bad at it. It mostly consists of flailing around. And he can only do it for a short amount of time before he starts yelling that he’s finished.”

The long-standing feud between Kimmel and Trump has seemingly grown in viciousness since the beginning of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran. Kimmel, who has been a frequent critic of Trump’s actions throughout his second presidency, has consistently called out Trump for his threats against Iran, especially after the U.S. president threatened that “a whole civilization” would die last month.
“Realize this is the same man that was just he was bitching about losing the Nobel Peace Prize. Now he’s threatening a civilization with death. He went from Mahatma Gandhi to General Zod like that,” Kimmel told the Jimmy Kimmel Live audience at the time.
He added, “And so all day today, everyone — most notably the people of Iran — were wondering if their civilization was going to die tonight. Well, good news: It didn’t. It was the Taco Tuesday of all Taco Tuesdays, as our president decided not to drop the chalupa for at least another two weeks.
More recently, Kimmel and Trump have been going head-to-head over a joke the comedian made at his “alternate” White House Correspondents’ Dinner during his talk show, referring to the first lady as an “expectant widow.” Since then, both Melania and Donald Trump have called for his firing. It’s worth noting that Kimmel has not apologized for the joke in question.
Kimmel has shrugged off the calls for his firing, noting that the “expectant widow” jab “obviously was a joke about their age difference and the look of joy we see on her face every time they’re together.”
He continued, “It was a very light roast joke about the fact that [Trump] is almost 80 and she’s younger than I am. It was not by any stretch of the definition a call to assassination, and they know that I’ve been very vocal for many years speaking out against gun violence in particular.”
Kimmel then pointed out he and the first lady both denounce “hateful and violent rhetoric.”
“I agree that hateful and violent rhetoric is something we should reject. I do. And I think a great place to start to dial that back would be to have a conversation with your husband about it,” he said.
