Meghan Markle reportedly always had her eye on expensive freebies even after marrying into the Royal Family, an author has claimed. Before marrying Prince Harry in 2018, Meghan was no stranger to the spotlight, having been an actress with her own blog The Tig.
Author and journalist Tina Brown claimed in her book, The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor, the Truth and the Turmoil, that Meghan’s team even reached out to publicists after her 2018 royal wedding.
Brown wrote: “She [Meghan] won a reputation among the marketers of luxury brands of being warmly interested in receiving bags of designer swag.”
Brown said that even after marrying Prince Harry, a member of Meghan’s new team wrote to a publicist to say: “Make sure [the publicist] knows that she can still send me anything.
“She’s always been one of the good ones.”
This is because less than two years after marrying into the Royal Family, Meghan was stepping back from royal life with her husband Prince Harry.
As well as waving goodbye to royal duty, the couple moved across the pond to America, where they wanted to make their own money and pursue their own goals.
This saw the couple strike up various deals, including one with Netflix that saw them produce the bombshell 2022 docuseries Harry and Meghan.
