The TV legend admits he ‘was in a fairly vulnerable state’ when he appeared on the dating show
Former Celebs Go Dating star Stephen Webb has confessed his only regret after appearing on the dating show in 2024.
The TV legend endured a handful of lacklustre dates before finding a spark with David from Guernsey. The duo left the series hand-in-hand, but split up just weeks after going public.
Although Stephen didn’t find “The One” on the Channel 4 series, there’s only one thing he would change about his experience.
“I regret some of the outfits,” he told Heart Bingo Online. “There was this sort of like schoolboy at the bottom, granddad at the top kind of combo that I didn’t really pull it off. Some of the outfits were a bit dodgy.”
The Gogglebox legend added: “I regret those, but I don’t regret going on Celebs Go Dating!
“It definitely was a learning curve because I’d gone into that, I’d just recently split up with my husband, long-term relationship, marriage, I lost my mum and dad, so I was in a fairly vulnerable state, and I think going part part of that show, meeting new people and getting the advice from Paul [C Brunson] and Anna [Williamson] and Tara [Suwinyattichaiporn], it helped.”
He went on: “I think it was all part of that. I look back fondly on it because it involves some of the saddest moments in my life as well that I was dealing with when I went on that show, But we’re through the other end, and no, I don’t regret any of it! I got paid a lot of money for it too!”
Stephen was famously married to fellow TV sofa critic Daniel Lustig for six years, and they were together for a total of 12 years.
He joined Celebs Go Dating in a bid to find love after the split.
The latest season of the dating show is currently airing on E4, with seven new celebrities placing their love lives into the hands of experts.
Joining the journey are rugby star James Haskell, MAFS alum Lucinda Light, Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan, Love Islander Gabby Allen, rapper Professor Green, content creator PK Humble and TV personality David Potts.
As always, relationship gurus Paul C. Brunson, Anna Williamson and Dr. Tara Suwinyattichaiporn return to offer unfiltered advice.
Celebs Go Dating continues on E4 tonight at 9pm
