Glaswegian 5-piece The Rooks have released their brand new single, Nothing to Lose, today alongside a music video. Teaming up once again with Daniel Blake, who directed their Found My Reason Why video, the video for the single can be seen below. Listen to Nothing To Lose here.

Led by frontman Ross Gardiner’s signature soaring vocals, Nothing to Lose is an anthemic single made to scream at the top of your lungs, an artist’s daily mantra, and words for everyone to live by. The single was mixed by Luke Burgoyne (Louis Tomlinson, MUNA, Black Honey, CQ Wrestling) and recorded at Communion Church in London. This song is for the anxious overthinkers, the ruminators, the daydreamers; it’s a perfect representation of personal reassurance that you don’t need to live in your head and stay in the boxes people place you in.

The band have said of the single release, “Nothing To Lose is a rally cry to ourselves and our fans. We come from places where we’re constantly told to stay in line and accept a life of mediocrity. This is our way out. We’ve got nothing to lose and no reason to stop until we become the UK’s next great rock band. We’re gonna make music for a generation and bring people together. That’s the attitude people will take on when listening to the track. It’s a soundtrack for fans on their own mission to prove people wrong – when everything suggests they can’t.”

The Rooks have hit the ground running already this year; February saw them reveal the music video for the track, Found My Reason Why, which racked up 20k organic views in its first week. The song features on the band’s latest EP, Noise & Confusion, which The Rooks released on vinyl in February. They sold out 100 unique personalised copies of the test pressing in just 20 minutes!

The Glaswegian stalwarts have quickly become ones to watch on the live scene, gathering an ever-growing, solid fanbase of rabid fans. Next up, the indie/rockers are playing a slew of shows and festivals over the next few months, including the Great Escape in Brighton and A Stone’s Throw both in May. They also return to Glasgow’s TRNSMT, having brought record crowds to the introducing stage there last year, and were the only band on the bill who were unsigned and before they had secured an agent or manager.
