The View teased Stanley Tucci on Friday about being a “sex symbol.”
The Devil Wears Prada 2 star reacted to host Ana Navarro’s repeated questions about his appeal.
“You’re a sex symbol to gay men, to straight women. You run the gamut,” Navarro said.
The View cohosts have put Stanley Tucci‘s feet to the fire when it comes to his status as a sex symbol.
The star of The Devil Wears Prada 2 appeared on the daytime talk show on Friday to promote his return in the long-awaited Devil Wears Prada sequel, which also stars original cast members Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Tucci’s sister-in-law Emily Blunt (Tucci married Emily’s sister Felicity in 2012).
“You’ve kind of become like a bona fide sex symbol,” cohost Ana Navarro told Tucci, which he paused to process.
“How are you feeling about Stanley Tucci, the sex symbol?” Navarro asked, as Tucci nervously looked around and comically fumbled over his words.
“Well, yeah, I don’t know. I’m… look, who wouldn’t be thrilled?” Tucci told Navarro, who jumped in with yet another observation about the actor’s allure.
“By the way, it’s the weirdest thing, I was at the Devil Wears Prada premiere, and you’re a sex symbol to gay men, to straight women. You run the gamut,” Navarro said.
“Can you tell my wife this?” Tucci quipped, as the studio audience laughed and applauded.
Navarro isn’t the only person to comment on Tucci’s sexuality in recent weeks. Streep praised Tucci’s appeal at the actor’s Hollywood Walk of Fame induction ceremony late last month.

Tucci has become known for playing queer-leaning roles, including in The Devil Wears Prada and its sequel, as well as in Cher’s 2010 musical drama Burlesque.

“Not that heterosexuality is better than any other kind of sexuality,” Streep continued. “It’s just that elegance — real, unforced, natural, unstyled elegance — is sometimes harder for straight men.”
The View airs weekdays on ABC. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is now playing in theaters.
