Britney Spears was notably absent from a family reunion as her relatives celebrated her niece graduating from high school this week.
The pop star was nowhere to be seen as her sister Jamie Lynn was joined by her mom Lynne, dad Jamie, and Britney‘s son Sean Preston to watch Maddie’s big moment. Images from the ceremony showed Jamie Lynn, 35, becoming emotional with tears flowing down her cheeks as she proudly watched Maddie from the seats in the auditorium.
Sean Preston, 20, meanwhile was seen holding up a photo of Maddie from his seat with the slogan “look who’s graduated” written across the bottom and a graduation cap on her head. Britney and Jamie Lynn’s mom, Lynn, was also seen showing her support as she smiled staying close to her daughter. It comes as Britney is now learning ‘how to be kind’ to herself.
Meanwhile, Britney and Jamie Lynn’s dad, Jamie, was seen being helped by Jamie Lynn’s youngest, Ivey, eight, who pushed him in his wheelchair through the crowd. The outing for Britney’s family came after she recently exited rehab following her arrest for DUI.
Days after leaving a rehabilitation center, she posted a photo of a yellow spotted snake along with a caption that read, “Went to the pet store with my kids and look at what what a beautiful baby snake this is… snakes are symbolic of good health, higher consciousness, and pure luck… I’m so damn thankful to my friends and so many new beautiful people I have met through my spiritual journey… all a blessing in disguise…”
She added, “I still have to learn how to be kind to myself and the way I speak to myself… It’s a never ending journey and sometimes I just stop, look up and say wow God I think that was you and smile on!!!!”
Britney was arrested in Ventura County, California, for driving under the influence. According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office’s inmate records, the 44-year-old singer was pulled over on March 4 by California Highway Patrol officers. She was booked by the sheriff’s office around 3 a.m. and released from custody hours later.
After the arrest, a representative for Britney told The Mirror US, “This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.
“Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being,” the statement concluded.
Weeks after her arrest, she checked herself into a rehabilication center in Southern California. She was due to appear before a judge on May 4, however, she was instead represented in court by her legal team, who entered a guilty plea on her behalf.
