Halsey Wears Sheer Rahul Mishra Couture With Avan Jogia at Gold Gala

Halsey and her fiancé Avan Jogia coordinated in Rahul Mishra couture on Saturday at Gold House’s fifth annual Gold Gala in Los Angeles, with the singer taking look 30 from the designer’s spring 2024 couture collection off the runway and onto the gold carpet.

The singer wore a sheer blush-toned gown from Mishra’s “Superheroes” collection, which Jennifer Weil wrote for WWD “plunged deep into the magnificent world of insects — fireflies, moths, dragonflies — and reptiles.” Mishra used the couture lineup to draw attention to biodiversity loss, translating those creatures’ colors and forms through hand-embroidery.

Halsey wore look 30 from Mishra’s spring 2024 couture collection, a blush-nude tulle gown with tiny beaded straps and a deep V that plunged to the waist. The sheer bodice left the chest mostly bare, with narrow pleats through the bust and scattered crystal embroidery worked over the tulle. Mishra used a slim green-and-gold embroidered band at the waist, setting off the exposed top from the fuller skirt below.

The skirt of Halsey’s gown moved into layers of translucent tulle, with a wide skirt and soft train pooling behind her. Mishra placed metallic embroidery in irregular vine-like sections down the skirt, heavier at the front panels and hem, with small crystal dots scattered through the tulle.

The “Without Me” singer paired the translucent gown with green-and-gold Indian jewelry, including Anita Dongre drop earrings and bangle with a Sabyasachi emerald choker. They did their own makeup with About-Face, using a bronzed smoky eye, softly defined lip and a dusting of freckles. She wore her hair pulled back into braided sections at the crown, with longer pieces left loose behind her shoulders.

Jogia also wore Rahul Mishra, opting for a black embroidered jacket paired with black pants and buckle-adorned boots.

The Gold Gala was also the same event where Priyanka Chopra Jonas accepted the Global Vanguard Honor in custom Amit Aggarwal, wearing a white sari-inspired dress made from a 20-year-old chikankari sari. Halsey and Jogia’s coordinated Rahul Mishra looks brought another Indian fashion story to the carpet, this time through couture embroidery and Mishra’s nature-driven spring 2024 collection.
