Kevin Bacon probably would have liked a few degrees of separation from the bees he recently encountered.
The “Footloose” actor took to Instagram on Thursday to detail his experience while hiking with his daughter, Sosie Bacon, and her partner, Scoot McNairy. “Scoot was in the front, Sosie was in the middle, and I was holding up the rear,” Kevin explained. “Scoot points out to the left that there’s a beehive over there, and Sosie says, ‘Dad, hey, there’s a beehive, watch out.'”
He then joked, “So these bees, they must not have liked my work or something because they left [Sosie and Scoot] alone and they went full on after me. ‘Let’s attack KB.’”
Kevin said the bees stung him “everywhere,” including underneath his shirt. “Now, it was very nice of my daughter to not take out her phone and start videoing this epic bee sting dance that I was doing,” he acknowledged. “But I asked her if there was any way she could recreate it from memory.”
Sosie obliged, and the end of the video features the “Mare of Easttown” actress pretending to be stung by bees the way her father was while “Perfect Day” by Hoku plays. Sosie gives a convincing performance, full of limb flailing and throwing her baseball cap.
She then commented on the video, “It was nothing more, nothing less than that very dance.” Kevin’s wife, Kyra Sedgwick, also commented, writing, “Soooooo gooood!!” with some laughing face emojis.
