Matt Damon explains his ‘Be Good’ pin at ‘The Rip’ movie premiere

Matt Damon explains to USA TODAY why he wore a “Be Good” pin to the premiere of his new Netflix film, “The Rip.”

On Saturday, May 9, Cambridge actor Matt Damon returned to the “Saturday Night Live” stage, marking his first time hosting the comedy show since 2018, and his third overall.

Fellow New Englander Noah Kahan joined Damon on the “SNL” stage as the musical guest. Though the New England connection was not directly mentioned in any of the night’s skits, “Saturday Night Live” had a surprise in store for longtime Damon fans.

In the cold open, Damon reprised his iconic 2018 role as Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, joining Colin Jost’s Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Aziz Ansari’s FBI Director Kash Patel for a night of fun in a Washington, D.C. bar. Other skits included Damon as a substitute teacher, a “tough guy,” a concerned cat dad and an auctioneer.

“I’m so happy to be here, guys. This is my third time hosting, which seems… a little low right?” Damon joked in his opening monologue. “I’m here now, I’m really excited.”

“Thank you @nbcsnl thank you Matt Damon thank you mom thank you everyone,” Kahan captioned an Instagram slideshow with photos of him at the show.
