Last night, over in London, King Charles III and Queen Camilla hosted a 50th anniversary celebration for the King’s Trust. Formerly called the Prince’s Trust, the organization was founded in 1976 by Charles, then Prince of Wales, to help young people across the United Kingdom (and beyond) find and prepare for professional opportunities. In the half-century since, the trust has helped more than a million individuals.
Celebrating the milestone, the royals were joined by the King’s Trust ambassadors, alumni, staff, and volunteers at the Royal Albert Hall. The Clooneys were among those who attended, and for the occasion, Amal wore an Art Deco-inspired Alexander McQueen gown, embellished with gold sequins. Next to her, George went with a navy-blue suit and geometric tie. Lily Collins also showed up for the festivities, wearing a strapless, square-neck dress from Carolina Herrera’s Fall 2026 collection. As for the king and queen consort themselves, Charles elevated a blue suit with a patterned tie and Camilla layered a magenta cape over a purple floral dress.
“When I began what is now the King’s Trust in 1976, I could not possibly have imagined the impact it would have,” the king shared. “Using my Royal Navy severance pay to start it off, the Trust aimed to help disadvantaged young people fulfill their potential. Over the last 50 years, the work of my Trust has proved beyond doubt that supporting young people through personal development and the acquisition of self-confidence and self-esteem can make a real difference and transform lives.”
“In the beginning, I hoped that by supporting young people to develop their latent skills and to find work or training, the Trust would perhaps be able to help change some individuals lives for the better,” he continued. “As you can imagine, I am so very pleased and proud that the Trust’s work continues to go from strength to strength.”
