Lisa Kudrow is sharing some small details about the long-rumored sequel to her 1997 film, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.
Speaking on the Monday, May 11 episode of Watch What Happens Live!, Kudrow, 62, said of the sequel: “Well, I mean there’s a really funny script, and I mean, things are kind of moving toward it.”
The original film stars Kudrow and Mira Sorvino as the title characters, two Los Angeles-area women who resolve to pretend they are successful when they travel to Arizona to attend their 10-year high school reunion. Janeane Garofalo, Alan Cumming, Justin Theroux and Elaine Hendrix also starred in the film.

In 2024, Sorvino confirmed that she and Kudrow are making a sequel to the film with 20th Century Studios.
“Almost every single character from the original that was important is coming back,” Sorvino, 58, told PEOPLE of the sequel during a November 2024 interview. “This is all pending, them making deals, them saying yes, but they’re all in there.”
Speaking on the Friday, March 20 episode of Sophia Bush‘s Work in Progress podcast, Sorvino described the film as “evergreen,” saying, “I’m continuously amazed at how much this movie has meant to people in their lives.”

The actress went on to tell a story of a fan convention at which she made an appearance to give autographs, saying, “Somebody had me sign their arm as Romy, and then they came back within an hour like, bleeding — tattooed. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ “
“A lot of people have Romy and Michelle tattoos, and it’s pretty crazy,” she added.
