Drake’s latest album drop did not only ice out the city, but the global stage as well, with celebrities across the world taking to social media to react to the rapper’s surprise three-album release.

Across Toronto, thousands of fans stayed up until midnight to finally hear the highly anticipated Iceman album, alongside two additional surprise projects, Maid of Honour and Habiti.

But it wasn’t just fans tuning in. Celebrities around the globe also stayed awake to experience the release after weeks of Drake’s chaotic yet captivating rollout campaign.

K-pop supergroup BTS were among the first major celebrities to react after Drake shouted them out on the track “Make Them Cry.”

On the song, Drake raps, “I’m feeling like BTS ’cause it took the whole career for me to be so discovered.”

Members J-Hope and V posted a video of themselves vibing to the track. The moment they heard the group’s name mentioned, both artists turned to look at each other in surprise before the clip abruptly cut off.

That wasn’t the only notable shoutout Drake included. On the track “Make Them Pay,” he references popular streamer Adin Ross with the line, “Dawg, I was Adin Ross with streams before Adin Ross had ever streamed.”

Ross later reacted live on stream while surrounded by OVO-inspired ice sculptures during a watch party for Drake’s Iceman Episode 4 on YouTube. His response to hearing his name mentioned was anything but subdued.

“What the fck? Yo, holy sht… I made it!” Ross shouted excitedly during the livestream.

Drake and Ross are no strangers to one another, with the pair publicly acknowledging their friendship on multiple occasions. Even so, Ross insisted during the stream that Drake never warned him about the shoutout, making the moment a complete surprise.

Even celebrities who weren’t directly mentioned on the album were quick to show the 6ix God some love online.

Toronto R&B singer Shantel May dropped into Drake’s comment section, posting a series of ice cube emojis, a symbol fans have been using online to celebrate the Iceman era.

Singer-songwriter Yebba, who previously collaborated with Drake on “Yebba’s Heartbreak” from his 2021 album Certified Lover Boy, also commented with ice cube emojis on one of the rapper’s posts.

Meanwhile, Trae Young of the Washington Wizards shared a photo of Drake to his Instagram Story, captioning it with ice cube and owl emojis in reference to the rapper’s OVO brand.
