Busy on the campaign trail promoting new album Philadelphia’s Been Good To Me, Kurt Vile is the latest guest on The Adam Friedland Show, as well as the latest to perform some songs for TAFS Unplugged.
Vile did not make a beat on the spot like RZA, but before sitting down with Friedland, he performed several songs from the forthcoming album, starting with a solo acoustic version of opening track “Zoom 97.” He followed it up with the debut of an unreleased love song from the new LP, “Every Time I Look At You.” (“Every time I look at you/ Sparks fly from my eyes” — great opening line.) He wrapped up the performance segment with a droning, noisy, electric run through “hit of the highlife” from last year’s Classic Love EP with Luke Roberts.
I haven’t seen the interview segment that follows, but all KV heads should tune in below for the music alone.
