Kevin Hart and Katt Williams Squash Beef During Netflix Roast

During the Netflix roast of Kevin Hart, comedian Katt Williams showed up as a surprise guest and the pair publicly squashed their feud.

“Me and this man have been at odds for years on years,” said Hart, as seen in a clip from the roast below. “You coming out here, quite the f**kingsurprise. But, Katt, I can sit and I can watch you, I can laugh, because I’m a f**kingfan first, okay? I’m a fan first. Katt, we have an opportunity in real time, this is live television, to put our f**kingbeef behind us. I am offering you an olive branch of peace. I want to be a brother, I want to be a friend. Katt, I want to move on. Can we move on, man?”

After his comments, Williams approached Hart to offer him a hug to the applause of those in attendance. “Katt Williams, one time, ladies and gentlemen, Katt f**kingWilliams,” Hart added.

Despite squashing their beef during the roast, that doesn’t mean that Williams held back when it came to his turn to roast Hart.

“Just because Kevin went to Diddy parties does not mean he did something wrong,” said Williams. “The fact that he gets all quiet when you bring it up, that means he did something wrong.”

During another moment, he joked that he was “surprised” he was invited to the roast, considering their history, and described himself as one of Hart’s “enemies.”

After the moment, Hart also jokingly reignited the beef.

“Everybody has said tonight that I can’t act,” said Hart, as seen in the clip below. “‘Kevin cannot act.’ What I want you to do is go back and look at that moment where I shook Katt’s hand, and I looked him in the eye, and I said, ‘I just want us to be friends.’ Some of the best f**kingacting that I’ve ever did in my career. I did not mean one word of what I said. f**k Katt Williams! f**k Katt Williams!”

Williams and Hart have had a rocky relationship since at least 2016, when Williams referred to Hart as a “puppet” and challenged him to a standoff-style comedy show. He later apologized for his comments, but Hart said he was frustrated with Williams in 2018 after he dissed his Night School co-star, Tiffany Haddish. Williams tore into Hart in his infamous Club Shay Shay interview in 2024, but he said they were able to work out their issues sometime last year.

“Me and Katt, there was always a little ruffle in the water for quite some time, but picking up the phone does a lot,” he said during an episode of 7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony last year, per the Source. “Having direct conversations and removing the middlemen does a lot. As we got older, we got better at it. Now, we understand we have a job to do, and the job is to be better examples.”
