The band, famous for such hits as “Dust in the Wind”, “Carry on Wayward Son” and “Hold On” will be in town for a one-night-only performance, according to a news release.

The announcement comes at a time when many performers are canceling all or some of their shows due to low ticket sales, in a phenomenon that some are calling “blue dot fever.” Kansas had to cancel two Minnesota concerts earlier this month, due to illness, according to the group’s post on X.

With a career spanning more than five decades, Kansas has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, according to the release. Formed in Topeka and discovered in the early 1970s, the band is known for its dynamic live performances and progressive rock sound. The group has released 16 studio albums and five live albums, earning eight gold albums and three sextuple-platinum albums, according to the release.

The band’s 2020 release, “The Absence of Presence,” debuted in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Top Current Albums chart, according to the band’s website.

The band’s original members included guitarist Richard Williams, drummer Phil Ehart, guitarist-keyboardist Kerry Livgren, singer-keyboardist Steve Walsh, singer-violinist Robbie Steinhardt and bassist Dave Hop, according to Billboard. Original members Richard Williams and Phil Ehart remain with the band. Eric Holmquist will play drums.

The band’s music has been featured in films, “Anchorman,” “Old School” and “Pitch Perfect,” and television shows including “Supernatural,” “The Office” and “The Simpsons,” as well as major video games and sporting events, according to the release.
